GOOD MORNING;
welcome to my first official web site; Glad you could take a look, A fellow photographer whom I respect and admire said photography finds us, we don't decide on it. Whatever the case is, I wouldn't go back now. my first camera was a pawnshop no-name brand that came with two lenses and a case for about a hundred dollars. since then, I have worked with pinhole's and Poloraids, five dollar flea market
specials to television rigs.
I was a student of photograhy
at Pensacola Junior College
before accepting the position
as a Photojournalist with Freedom
Communications. Our two publications were
The Destin Log and The Walton Log.
Both were printed "in house" and were issued
twice a week. Working in "Small Town America"
presented its own chalenges and rewards.
Without the activity of a large city, and the
"breaking news" that comes along with them,
I found myself developing friendships with the
people that made up the communties
that I photographed. These friendships alowed
me a much closer vantage point than I would have
had otherwise.
Working for a small paper had equal chalenges and
benifits. Being a part of processes from editorial
meetings to Quark, paste up room to press; gave me
first hand experience in the four ink processes, and the quick decision making of multiple deadlines.
The experience tested and honed my
ability to make last minute quality decisions, and
do so with professional consistency.
